Affiliate Disclosure: How We Make Money
Plain English, up front: some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
What that means
- We only earn money when a reader chooses to buy through one of our links. The calculator and every guide on this site are free to use, with no account and no paywall.
- A commission never changes the price you pay. Always check the final price — and the actual fabric width — at the merchant before buying, because both change.
- Commissions are how this site pays for hosting and the time it takes to keep the math and guides correct.
Our editorial rules
- The calculator's math is the math, whether or not a link is nearby. We publish the formulas and worked examples so you can check every number by hand.
- A product does not get a better mention because it pays more. Where we compare options (for example, wide-back vs pieced backing), we include the honest case for both.
- We never accept payment for a review or a ranking position.
Who we have affiliate relationships with
We currently have (or are applying for) an affiliate relationship with Fat Quarter Shop (quilting fabric and supplies), via the Awin affiliate network. Links to Fat Quarter Shop on this site are affiliate links. If you buy fabric through one, we may earn a commission. This does not change your price.
Questions
If anything on this page is unclear, that is our failure, not yours. Transparency is the whole business model: a reader who trusts the disclosure trusts the calculator.
This page satisfies the disclosure intent of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) endorsement guides: material connections between this site and the products it links to are disclosed clearly and conspicuously.
